HICKORY, N.C. — Sherrill Furniture is utilizing and promoting its domestic capabilities to get product into the hands of its customers — designers and retailers alike — a lot more quickly.
The “Get It Custom, Get It Quick” initiative offers more than 450 custom case goods from four of the company’s designer brands that can ship within four to six weeks of the time of order. The four brands are Hickory White, Lillian August, Mr. & Mrs. Howard and CTH-Sherrill Occasional.

WASHINGTON — The National Retail Federation urged the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative to avoid placing tariffs on imports of Vietnamese goods and rely on other remedies and authorities to address trade complaints.
USTR recently launched two separate 301 investigations regarding Vietnam’s currency practices and trade in illegal timber. NRF Senior Vice President of Government Relations David French provided testimony at both the illegal timber and currency practices hearings this week.
“Vietnam has become an increasingly important political ally and economic partner to the United States to counter the influence of China in the region,” French said. “It is important that this relationship not only continue but expand as the global economy continues to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.”

Some trend predictions for next year according to décor marketplace Chairish include products in celery and terracotta; softer, more comfortable pieces; and items with distinct geometric shapes.
SAN FRANCISCO – Chairish Inc., a high-end home décor marketplace, has predicted some styles and trends that will be in demand in 2021.
The site has a diverse inventory, which spans nearly every style and category along with more than four million users. CONOVER, N.C. – High-end upholstery manufacturer Lee Inds. will open a state-of-the art health center here for the exclusive use of its associates and their immediate families.
Scheduled to open in January, the 2,300 square-foot facility is located between Lee’s multiple manufacturing facilities in the Newton-Conover area. The center will be staffed by three healthcare professionals including a medical assistant, patient advocate and nurse practitioner with the oversight of a licensed physician.
Lee Inds. employs more than 670 skilled furniture technicians.

ATLANTA, Ga. – Children’s products specialist Graco has recalled about 51,000 inclined sleeper accessories due to concerns about the safety of inclined sleeper units.
The recall involves the inclined sleeper accessory that is included with several playards including the Graco Pack ‘n Play Day2Dream Playard with Bedside Sleeper, the Graco Pack ‘n Play Nuzzle Nest Playard, the Graco Pack ‘n Play Everest Playard and the Graco Pack ‘n Play Rock ‘n Grow Playard.
While no incidents or injuries have been reported with the inclined sleeper accessories, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall is in response to safety concerns involving other manufacturers inclined sleep products. In a number of these incidents, infants have suffocated after rolling from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained or under other circumstances.
